Cliven D. Bundy, born April 29, 1946, is a cattle rancher who was charged for his role in what’s called the 2014 Bundy Standoff. He is the father of Ammon Bundy who in 2016 also led another armed standoff against the government in Oregon. Cliven Bundy advocates against what he calls federal overreach.

Cliven Bundy's Racist Comments

Ammon Edward Bundy, born September 1, 1975, gained widespread attention as a leader of the 2016 occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. He has a wife, Lisa, as well as three daughters and three sons, in Emmett, Idaho.

Bundy claims that the federal government's prosecutions following confrontations in Nevada and Oregon was really a "battle [inside]" the LDS church. He said that he, his father, and his attorney are all high priests in the church, as well as the lead U.S. attorney prosecuting his family, the chief judge in Oregon, and former Nevada Senator Harry Reid, who has made public comments disparaging the family and their supporters as domestic terrorists.

In an interview with The Guardian, Cliven’s 24-year-old daughter, Bailey Logue, who runs the family Facebook page, said that she was unsurprised by Reid’s statements. “He’s an evil, evil man,” she said. Still, she said, “I couldn’t believe that he actually put it out there like that… It made me angry.”

Logue said she would appeal to Reid’s religious faith, given that they are both Mormons. “He has a father. He has sons. What would he think if we came out with something like this against his family and his loved ones?” she said.
