Bound to Kill Update w/ Cover Mock Ups
The book is coming along really nicely; if I had to guess I would say I am about 85% done with the final draft. I completely reorganized the entire book in this draft for better clarity. I am currently going through and adding more granular detail to what I already have, and adding interview transcriptions where they fit in with the story. And I have a cover!
My friend Matteo, a talented artist from Italy, helped come up with a concept inspired by the 1980s cult classic film Videodrome.
In a way, Delia/Susan and Travis were lost within themselves and displaced from reality like the characters in Videodrome, and the fictional, "reality TV" aspects of their relationship as broadcast on the early internet became a kind of hyper-reality and hyper-intimacy, while actual reality and actual intimacy retreated away from them not unlike the characters in the film. Based on that symbolism from Videodrome, I created these mockups to help show other artists and designers my vision.
I commissioned my friend Kate Lozskaya, an amazing artist from the Ukraine, who took the concept we created and turned it into a cohesive artwork in her singular style. An 18x24 print of the artwork, titled Parasocial Intimacy, is now available for sale at MurderPop.Com for $29.99.
