It’s been one year and over 150 articles since Murder Pop Magazine went live, and we want to say thank you for joining the Murder Pop family. It’s been great to have a place to share so many true crime stories with you, plus all the bonus materials and sneak previews from Bound to Kill, and there’s a lot more on the way.
The Murder Pop logo is The Dancing Man because Murder Pop was started as a record label; as we grew and needed a logo, we stumbled upon the ambiguous figure of the Dancing Man in the magical dystopian wasteland-of-the-future-that-is-the-now on Shopify.
To celebrate the one year anniversary of Murder Pop Magazine and the impending release of Bound to Kill in true Dancing Man style, we’ve decided that we are going to gift complimentary paid subscriptions of Murder Pop Magazine to any of our free subscribers who have high activity levels (as measured by our activity dashboard, seen below).
This gift subscription will give you full access to our archives, in addition to all the great things we have planned to come for Murder Pop Magazine.
Support comes in a lot of different forms, and we wanted to show our appreciation for our free subscribers, and all of the time and attention you’ve put into reading, as well as commenting and emailing us your thoughts, questions, ideas, and story leads.
To say nothing of sharing our articles and referring your friends and family to Murder Pop!
Some of you may have already noticed, especially if you’re one of our most active readers; we started comping accounts for the highest activity readers at the end of October, with our deep thanks.
We hope you enjoy our growing archives, and all the cool things we’ve got planned over the next months and beyond, some of which will be paywalled- but not for you, our most loyal subscribers!
As a consolation prize for people who weren’t lucky enough to score a lifetime paid subscription, and also just to promote the magazine, we’ve gone through our archives and removed the paywall from our most popular articles, including; a Bound to Kill preview located on the Delia Day page; the articles on the Murder of Seath Jackson and the Murder of Colleen Slemmer; Miss Misery: The Death of Elliott Smith; our two part spread on Columbine as well as the article on Sandy Hook; and the articles on Carl Panzram, Richard Evonitz; as well as our coverage of Hamas.
Enjoy, and please share with your friends!
Bound to Kill News
I wanted to let you know that I am in the final stretch of writing the final draft of Bound to Kill. I expect to be finished writing the book any day (although I’ve expected that for about a month now lol) and then it’ll be ready to send off to final edit!
I have so much cool material that didn’t make it into the book for one reason or another. I knew that would happen, which is part of why I decided to include complimentary lifetime Murder Pop Magazine subscriptions for people who bought the book early.
In the months ahead, as the final draft is completed and the book is edited and prepared for publication, I am going to be sharing a lot more of that bonus material with you here in Murder Pop Magazine.
I have DOZENS of posts already planned out and waiting on final touches, all on different aspects that relate to the story but indirectly in a way that didn’t fit into the overall scope of the book.
To those early buyers, thank you so much, your support means everything; I hope you love the forthcoming Bound to Kill material, and that you continue to enjoy your complimentary subscription to Murder Pop Magazine for years to come.
I will make an announcement as soon as I send the book off for final edit, which should be very soon. I feel really good that I might actually finish writing it on the timeline I originally announced, which was by Christmas 2023. I might even be early! Not by much, and it wasn’t easy- in fact, it was really, really difficult, and I had to basically stop making videos to get it done!
It’s almost done but the excitement has really just begun… more soon.
