Who is Delia Day?
(w/audio clip and photos)
Before getting into the meat of the story, it is important to note that “Delia Day” is both Travis and Susan; they are one and the same. Therefore, I will be referring to Delia Day as a third person (i.e., this story is about Travis, Susan, and Delia).
Regarding the origin of the name, Susan says, “The pseudonym of ‘Delia Day’ that I began using as an artist in the late 90′s was usurped by my husband, Travis, as the weblogger and self-described sex slave (fronted by images of me.)” *
Travis and Susan had set up two websites prior to the launch of their infamous deliaday.com site. The first website was called Ideal Delia where Susan published her self-portraits and poems. As seen here:
The second site was at jussive.com and could be considered MILAS 1.0 or an early iteration of it. Just like MILAS the site featured Susan as a sex slave in a BDSM lifestyle relationship but instead of going by the name Delia Day, Susan went by the name Diane Lane.
The two sites eventually merged and became “My Illustrated Life as a Sex Slave” (deliaday.com), making Delia Day both a visual artist and a fetish porn performer.
Diane Lane was nothing but a short creation and was never mentioned again.
It has been established that Susan was the face of Delia Day and that Travis was doing most, if not all, of the writing as Delia. So, did Travis “usurp” the name Delia Day or was Susan compliant in the merging process? More on this soon.
Fast-forward to a decade after Susan killed Travis, and by extension Delia Day.
In 2013 Susan started a short-lived blog on WordPress called invisibl3survivor where she wrote about her experiences and, as a self-proclaimed artist, shared some of her recent portraits.
Below is the audio clip of Susan introducing herself. Take a listen:
Susan was an artist then and she is an artist now. Delia Day was created and destroyed but the part of Susan that creates, draws, and edits photos remains.
The identities of Travis, Susan and Delia Day are explored in Bound to Kill: The Untold Story of Delia Day. You can read the Chapter 1 Excerpt Here!
